WE SURVIVED THE FIRST MONTH OF #VANLIFE

Before we even started living on the road I had this big plan to write a “weekly whereabouts” because I thought I would have so much free time. Well, HA wasn’t that a bit ambitious. Between all the coffee, exploring potential camp spots, avoiding the mosquito and fly death traps and simply just enjoying life doing the things we love, believe me or not, there is not a lot of “free time”. Therefore, I have opted to write about our “monthly migration”.

So here we are, a month (well, we are a bit late to the show because refer to the above 😉 ha-ha I will attempt to be on time from now on!) into our BIG LAP OF AUSTRALIA.

It has been super cruisy with lots of family visits and tears as we said goodbye to everyone and our little Tosca. We will miss her more than anything!! But she is in very good care at my Aunt’s and we could not be more thankful for them welcoming her as part of their family!

OUR LAST VAN TRIP WITH LITTLE TOS

Leaving the Sunshine Coast was, I will be honest, not easy. RIGHT up until we left we were both beyond stressed and so exhausted. Why? Two words. THE. VAN. Yep, the month before, the week before, the day before we left, things just kept going pear shaped!! And sadly, they still are today HAHA. But, that is a whole different story which we will write about soon because you all need to know that this idolised lifestyle is not all crystal-clear water and sun kissed skies!

I will never forget what April said in the last cycle class I done at UFIT Australia. She said, “THE MORE PRESSURE, THE BIGGER THE DIAMOND”. It could have not been more fitting. Because after everything, here we are, embarking on a journey that some people will only ever dream about. We are SO fortunate that we could quit our jobs and travel for an extended amount of time without having to worry about money or commitments. We are going to be exploring Australia’s must rugged and rich landscapes all while living in our campervan! And THAT, that is the biggest damn diamond I could ever wish for! Thanks April, for always keeping it real.

I will aim to keep the MONTHLY MIGRATION posts short & sweet with some photos, a timeline of the HIGHLIGHTS and LOWLIGHTS of the month along with the monthly EXPENSES and STATS! I hope you enjoy following our #BigLapAdvanture and if you have any questions, let us know! 😊
